It died. Corrupted hard drive, probably brought on by the several power outages during the winter storm. I have to possibly get a new hard drive, install Linux, and restore my backups. (which I did the 26th)
But as such my server and any hosted sigs and avatars will be offline until at least this weekend.
my media server suffered the same fate recently, we lost the bulk of our tv shows, I'm pretty sure I'd rather pay more for a good raid solution this time around instead of just buying a new drive
I dont know if dirty power killed our hd, it just kinda puttered out... but this is the second drive we've lost so i'd like to RAID so Im not at the mercy of single drives
luckily the way the server is set up its really easy to see what we lost so we can redownload it all
I think it's back to a functioning status. The old server was giving me lots of lip while trying to install the OS so everything's now running on an old laptop I had. That means it has a built in battery backup so the power blinks won't kill it anymore. Let me know if there's any issues.
